My favourite book.

LA SOMBRA DEL VIENTO
by Carlos Ruiz de Zafón, 2001.

First of all, I´m not a very good reader. Sincerly I don´t have much time for that. Two years ago, endind the spring, my girlfriend gifted me this book . Thanks!! -I said-, but thinking ... when I´m gonna read it ?!! She loves to read so she told me: "Pedro, don´t be lazzy. You know that in Panguipulli (it´s my favourite place to spend the summer, in the south of Chile) you have a lot of time on afternoons doing nothing. It would be so much better if you seat and read a while... you will be so greatfull if you do it". So I did it ! And now I´m very happy for doing it, because it opened me a new field of entertainment.

"La sombra del viento" is the Carlos Ruiz de Zafón´s first novel, in 2001. This novel has been very succesfull, selling more than 7 millions copies and translated to 36 lenguages. The book is about a boy envolved in love, drama, ghost and spiritual forces. It´s not like Harry Potter story. It´s so much better than that. No special effects; when you read the pages you can´t stop ... Everything is so real! His father is a librarian that owns his own shop, haves some very unique friends that haves a club. One day his father takes him to the " Cementery of forgotten books" and tells him- "you must select just one book of these millions and you can take it for your self"-. So the boy -Daniel- chooses "La sombra del Viento". When he gets home, started reading the book and finishes at the morning. He was fascinated! The author was Julian Carax, so the boy; alucinated by this book and author; beggins the search of another book of Carax. In the way, a hole enigmatic, dramatic, lovely and intrigant story happens surprising the lector when you less spect it.
I red it in a couple of weeks (a recod to me) and i stood fascinated. It´s an amazing book and I assure you´ll love it.

Joaquín´s Life Map.

Everyone calls him "caco". No ones knows the real reazon of his nickname but I will tell you.

One of his first memories is beeing sitten in the toilet and helped by his very very old nanny. His stomach wasn´t working very well so he has to spend a lot of time of his youth in the bath. So his bigger brother called him "caca". Joaquin didn´t like this nickname, so they discussed and ended with "caco". Finally, 2 years later, went to the doctor and concluded that he was a milk alergic. Since that moment, Caco has been the happiest person in the world and has became alergic at toilets (just kitting). So the milk wasn´t his thing.

Then he went to school, he made a lot of friends and girlfriends (they are so funny, because they belive en UFOs and they call themselfs "marciano amigos". I don´t know if you have seen the movie "Dude where´s my car", the scene of "Zoltan", when the adore some kind of god? Very likely). The craziest thing that he has done, is skiing at "El Manzanito" in La Parva Ski Center.

He´s very proud of beeing an Architecture Student at Universidad de Chile and very happy. During his career he has beeing distinguished in several ocations and he is very proud of that.

Well, hoping that his group, the marciano amigos never end, I finish his Life Map at the moment.

MY SEASON SONG.

It`s a Bob Dylan theme of his fourth Album " Another side of Bob Dylan" (1964):

It Ain`t me, Babe

Well, althought it´s not my favourite song, sometimes I share the lyrics like hell. The song is about a men that doesn´t want to be with certain women because she wants a men that doesn´t have eyes, hands, arms or hart for anyone else!! He feels like prisioner and he´s not for slavery. He wants true love. He wants to love, smile or hught whenever he wants! Not to be forced to do it all the time. He´s not the onde she wants. It doesn´t mean that he´s a bloody selfish ; it´s just that he wants a real relationship. Love and hate. No one is strictly unconditional.

Well, the lyrics are just much powerfull than my explanation, so you should download it from any place on internet and listen to it.

Here are the lyrics:

It Ain´t me, Babe

Go 'way from my window,

Leave at your own chosen speed.

I'm not the one you want, babe,

I'm not the one you need.

You say you're lookin' for someone

Never weak but always strong,

To protect you an' defend you

Whether you are right or wrong,

Someone to open each and every door,

But it ain't me, babe,

No, no, no, it ain't me, babe,

It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.

Go lightly from the ledge, babe,

Go lightly on the ground.

I'm not the one you want, babe,

I will only let you down.

You say you're lookin' for someone

Who will promise never to part,

Someone to close his eyes for you,

Someone to close his heart,

Someone who will die for you an' more,

But it ain't me, babe,

No, no, no, it ain't me, babe,

It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.

Go melt back into the night, babe,

Everything inside is made of stone.

There's nothing in here moving

An' anyway I'm not alone.

You say you're looking for someone

Who'll pick you up each time you fall,

To gather flowers constantly

An' to come each time you call,A lover for your life an' nothing more,

But it ain't me, babe,

No, no, no,

it ain't me, babe,

It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.
